April Newsletter

 I can't believe that it's already April!  April means birthdays, flowers, spring break and STAR testing.  We will start STAR testing on Tuesday, April 27, and will test through Friday, April 30.  There will be 2 days of Language Arts and 2 days of math.  The week before STAR testing, I will have review packets that the students will be doing in class.  I will ask them to bring these home nightly, so that you can review their work with them.  We will also be taking the practice test the week we get back from Spring Break.

In terms for preparing for testing... Make sure your child gets at least 8 hours of sleep, has a good breakfast that includes protein, and is on time to school.  As for the academics, I have taught, throughout the year, everything they need to know.  There is no need to "cram".  I believe that this just tends to stress the students more.

Please note that we will be going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium on May 12th, and will need about 7 chaperones.  It is an all day field trip.  Please let me know ASAP, if you are available to go as a chaperone.  It would not cost YOU anything, just a fun day with your child and their friends!
