Homework Policy

3rd and 4th grade are big jumps for students.  The classes are larger, the days are longer, and there is a lot more homework.

As a general rule, homework is due the day after it is given.  These assignments would include, math, science, social studies, etc.

There are a few exceptions to this rule.  Grammar packets are given out Friday and returned the following Friday.  Social Studies geography sheets are given out on Monday, and due back the following Monday.  Spelling/Vocabulary words will be given on Friday's, along with the grammar packet, and the test will be the following Friday.

Big projects like the Geography Dictionary and other reports/presentations will be given anywhere from 2-6 weeks to complete, depending on the project.  I post all due dates on my calendar, as well as on the front page of my web site.

Because there are so many projects, paper and packets being shuffled each day and because the classes are larger, it is important that students turn their work in on time.  Missing/late work is noted on the side board.  Students are responsible for handing me their missing/late papers. All missing and late work is due to me by the Friday of the week in which the assignment was given.  If your child is sick for more than a day, I will set an individual due date for the work that was missed while they were sick.
