Dear Room 10 Parents and Students,
Welcome to 4th grade! We have an exciting year ahead of us! I will give you more detailed information about our program on Back to School Night, which will be on Thursday, August 29th at 5:45pm. This is when I will cover the curriculum, classroom organization/routine, and expectations. However, reading for 30 minutes a night will be required Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, August 19th.
I believe that communication is vital throughout any school year and strongly encourage ongoing home-school communication. Please talk to your child to find out what we are working on in the classroom. Look at his/her notebooks, folders, etc., and ask questions! You may also contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns. The easiest way is to email me at: perry-barney_charron@cusdk8.org. You may also send a note with your child to school or call me at 408-252-5414 X69210. My website: cdpb.us will contain important classroom information and assignments.
The best way to follow what the homework assignments are, as well as receive any group messages is to check your Parent Square email every day.I will never show your child’s face if there are pictures of things the students are doing in class. I will always post a “back of the head” picture. Please make sure to follow me so you can track daily homework and upcoming information.
There are many supplies that will help ensure that the year runs smoothly. If you have questions about any of the supplies, please let me know. I am very grateful for any community supplies that you are able to donate, especially Kleenex and hand sanitizer. Your child will need to bring all of their supplies to school by Wednesday, August 21st.
To help facilitate a good start to the school year, here are the steps to take to help ensure a successful year for your fourth-grader. Please review this list, and complete the steps no later than Wednesday, August 21st.
Items 1, 2 and 3 can be found on my website under the “Back To School” drop down. Items 4 and 5 can be found in your child’s green folder.
- Review the 4th Grade Suggested Supply List, and make sure your child has all the supplies listed.
- Review our Class Schedule. (Found on my website)
- Complete the Online Parent Information Form, so that I know how to reach you if needed. (Found on my website
- Complete the Green Emergency Card, and have your student return it to me.
- Complete the Orange Direct Donation Envelope, and have your student return it to me.
- Read and sign the Plagiarism agreement form and return it to me.
- Read and sing the School Library Agreement
- Watch for these forms which will be sent to you from the district, and sign and submit them:
- Student Responsible Use Of Technology Policy.
- Apps Agreement
- 3rd-5th Grade Student Mobile Device Use Rules and Agreement
- Receipt of Information Acknowledgement
It is very important that you complete these steps as soon as possible!
